Five years ago, Lynette and Michael began their married journey with an intimate ceremony thanks to Covid. They were surrounded by just ten of their closest love ones (as determined during that time). It was full of love, a reflection of everything that mattered most to them.

Through career changes, countries and life, they decided to honour their love with a fabulous vow renewal ceremony at the gorgeous front verandah of Rippon Lea Estate. It was the perfect time to celebrate what they have built; a great love, great family and great friends gathered to celebrate their love on a beautiful February day.

To the surprise of their guests, the moment Lynette and Michael were affirmed as married, a Chinese Lion Dance troupe burst up the steps in a blur of colour and acrobatics. It was the perfect send off into their new capture together.

Valerie and Matthew didn’t start out as high school sweethearts, despite meeting when they were in year 9 and their neighbouring brother/sister schools combined for a term of ballroom dancing.

On the day of their very first class, Matthew had forgotten his glasses, so his first view of Valerie was a little blurred. But when it came time to dance together, there was no mistaking it, Valerie had taken a fancy to him.  

Their lives took them in a variety of directions, and as young adults, ultimately, back to each other.

A heartwarming relationship story, shared with close family and friends at the gorgeous Huntley House, Elsternwick. Honoured to have stayed on to be Valerie and Matthew’s Master of Ceremonies for their reception.
